The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with a major armed robbery case in the region.

According to the police, the suspects are part of a robbery gang that has been terrorising residents of Kunsu and surrounding communities in the Ashanti Region.

The suspects, Yahyah Seidu (alias Diamond, 24), Atta Esrael (alias Stone, 32), Victor Gyan (alias City Boy, 26), and Stanley Wiafe Akenten (alias Figo, 30), are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

Addressing the media at a press conference on Wednesday, January 27, 2026, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, said police retrieved two pump-action guns, 22 BB cartridges, five mobile phones including that of the complainant, and an amount of GH¢5,400 from the suspects.

He disclosed that the suspects, together with two others who are currently on the run, attacked one Kingsley Asare at a mining site, robbing him of gold, cash, and mobile phones.

“They carried out this operation on December 7, 2025, robbing gold worth hundreds of cedis,” he said.

DCOP Arthur stated that the suspects admitted to the offence during interrogation and would be arraigned before court to face the law.

“We interrogated them upon arrest, and they have admitted the offence. They will be brought to book,” he noted.

He further assured the public of the police command’s commitment to ensuring maximum protection and security in the region.
