Sharaf Mahama is a son of President John Dramani Mahama
The Ghana Police Service in Yendi has apprehended two individuals, a male and a female, for allegedly impersonating Sharaf Mahama, son of President John Dramani Mahama, on TikTok.
According to the report by adomonline.com on February 2, 2026, the suspects reportedly created a fake TikTok account under the name "Sheriff Mahama," which they used for personal activities while presenting themselves as the President's son. The account gained significant traction, garnering over 7,500 followers and thousands of likes.
The male suspect has been identified as Abdul Rahaman Zakaria.
However, investigations are still ongoing to determine the extent of the female suspect's involvement in the alleged impersonation.
The police have confirmed that the arrests are part of their efforts to combat online impersonation and other cyber-related offences.
The suspects are currently in custody, assisting with investigations.
The suspects are expected to face court proceedings in due course, as the police continue to crack down on such activities.
