The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to investigate allegations that some police officers at Kibi unlawfully withdrew GH¢400,000 from a mobile money agent’s account.

The directive follows a viral video circulating on social media which claims that officers were involved in the unauthorised withdrawal.

In a series of posts on the official X page of the Ghana Police Service on Thursday, March 5, 2026, the police confirmed that the IGP had ordered a formal investigation into the matter.

“The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to conduct investigation into allegations in a viral video concerning the unauthorised withdrawal,” it said.

According to the police, the alleged victim has already been contacted and is cooperating with investigators.

“The victim has since been contacted and is assisting the investigation,” the statement indicated.

The police further assured the public that the investigation would be conducted transparently.
