The Eastern South Regional Police Command has confirmed that calm has been restored at Akyem Oda’s New Station area following a violent clash involving young men wielding cutlasses in broad daylight.

According to a press release issued on May 6, 2026, by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, the incident was captured in a disturbing viral video showing the men attacking each other with sharp weapons. Police swiftly moved to the scene to restore order.

“Suspect George Okyere, age 30 with a deep cut on his forehead and his right finger chopped off was met at the emergency ward of the Oda Jubilee Hospital while suspect Paul Pascalele was met at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital emergency ward with a deep cut on the right hand receiving treatment.

“Meanwhile, suspect Evans Adayele was arrested in his hideout to assist in investigation. Efforts are underway to arrest other suspects for further investigations and prosecution,” part of the police statement said.

The police assured the public that investigations are underway and reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
