The incident reportedly occurred at Asante and Asante Lane in Madina
CCTV footage has captured a young woman allegedly stealing over GH¢20,000 from a shop at Madina Market while pretending to make a purchase.
In the viral video, the woman, dressed in a pinkish-red patterned top, a blue headwrap, and a face mask, enters a shop located at Asante and Asante Lane in Madina.
She appears calm and behaves like a regular customer, standing close to the counter as she engages the shop attendant under the pretext of buying an item.
While the attendant is distracted, reportedly attending to her, the suspect is seen reaching into a bag placed near the counter.
In a quick move, she allegedly removes a large sum of cash, said to be over GH¢20,000.
After taking the money, she conceals it on her person and continues acting normally for a short while.
Moments later, she leaves the shop without making any purchase, raising no immediate suspicion.
Reports suggest that the woman is currently on the run, and her details have since been circulated to aid in her identification and arrest.
The video has sparked mixed reactions online. While some netizens expressed shock at the incident, others noted what they believe is a growing trend.
“Wow, I’m shocked. Nowadays females dey steal pass males honestly speaking,” one user wrote.
Another user, however, blamed the shop attendant, saying:
“Most careless shop attendant ever!”
