The man attacked the nurse in a fit of anger
Desmond Bosomtwe, the man captured physically assaulting a nurse at the Tema Community 22 Polyclinic, has been convicted.
The nurse, Priscilla Addo, was assaulted after a confrontation erupted when she reportedly informed visitors that official visiting hours had ended and asked them to leave the facility.
However, Bosomtwe, a relative of a patient, allegedly refused to comply, leading to a heated physical altercation at the clinic.

Videos that circulated on social media on June 2, 2026, showed the chaotic moment when Bosomtwe grabbed and pushed the nurse amid the scuffle, with bystanders intervening.
A separate segment captured Bosomtwe being escorted outdoors in handcuffs after his arrest.
In an update shared by @TheeNewsRoom on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, it said the court handed down its sentence, taking into account that this was his first offense.
He has therefore been charged to pay a fine of 100 penalty units or 12 months imprisonment in default, pay GH¢5,000 in compensation to the victim, Priscilla Addo, a 12-month bond to be of good behaviour and has also been barred from visiting any patients at the facility for the next 12 months.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service and nursing associations, including the GRNMA, had strongly condemned the assault and called for justice, emphasising that violence against health workers will not be tolerated.
The suspect was arrested and arraigned promptly following the June 2, 2026, incident.
