The Ghana Police Service has arrested six suspects believed to be connected to two separate armed robbery attacks on warehouses in the Tema enclave, which resulted in the theft of large quantities of fertilizers and food products.

According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Tema Regional Police Headquarters on 19 June 2026, the suspects were arrested following intelligence-led operations and sustained investigations into the robberies that occurred at Kpone and Tema Community One in May and June this year.

“Police investigations revealed that on 25 May 2026, a group of armed men attacked a security guard at a fertilizer warehouse in Kpone and made away with 751 bags of 50kg organic fertilizers valued at GHS 431,825.

“In a separate incident on 14 June 2026, another group of armed robbers reportedly overpowered security guards at Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse in Tema Community One and stole approximately 2,000 bags of Aaba Rice and other food products, “part of the statement said.

The police said investigations led them to various warehouses within the Tema enclave, where some of the stolen goods were traced and persons suspected to have links to the robberies were identified.

A coordinated operation carried out on 16 June 2026 resulted in the arrest of six suspects identified as Akala Kudus, Shaibu Dauda, Abdul Rahman Moro, Giya Hudu, Razak Seidu and Francis Ayinsabga.

During the operation, police recovered 717 bags of Aaba Rice believed to have been stolen from Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse, as well as 600 bags of fertilizers linked to the Kpone warehouse robbery.

The recovered items have been secured as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while efforts continue to track down other accomplices, retrieve the remaining stolen items and ensure all individuals involved are brought before the law.
