A 55-year-old man has been sentenced to five years imprisonment with hard labour for stabbing his sister in both eyes during a heated confrontation at Sefwi Abrokofe in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

William Gyamfi, popularly known as Kwasi Manso, was convicted by the Sefwi Bodi Circuit Court for attacking his 50-year-old sister, Akua Agyeiwaa, during a misunderstanding on January 17, 2026, according to a report by 3news.com on June 25, 2026.

According to evidence presented before the court, the dispute escalated into violence when Gyamfi allegedly stabbed his sister in both eyes, leaving her with life-altering injuries.

He was subsequently arrested and arraigned before the Sefwi Bodi District Court.

After several court proceedings, the presiding judge, James Mensah Donkor, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to five years' imprisonment with hard labour.

Meanwhile, the Juaboso District Police Commander, Superintendent Isaac Otsin, has warned that violence, regardless of the circumstances, has devastating consequences and urged the public to seek peaceful means to resolve disputes.
