According to the police, Addae was arrested on June 19, 2026, in connection with a theft case at Awaso STEM Senior High School.

Following the investigations, Francis Addae was arraigned before the Bibiani Circuit Court on charges of stealing and unlawful possession of human skeletal remains. After hearing the case, the court found him guilty on both counts.
