Police launch probe into alleged viral misconduct by female officer

The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into a viral video which allegedly shows misconduct involving a policewoman in the Afrancho/Akomadan District.

According to a statement issued by the Command on July 5, 2026, the officer involved has been identified, and a formal investigation has commenced into the incident.

"The police officer involved has been identified and an investigation has commenced to establish the full facts and circumstances surrounding the incident that is said to have occurred on July 3, 2026," it stated.

The Command stressed that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the outcome of the ongoing probe.

It further assured the public of its commitment to "professionalism, discipline, and accountability within the Police Service".
