NACOC arrests 10 suspected drug offenders in Cape Coast raid

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested 10 suspected drug offenders during an intelligence-led operation carried out across several communities in Cape Coast.

The operation, conducted in areas identified as drug trafficking and abuse hotspots, targeted communities including Pedu, Victoria Road, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) enclave, Downtown, and other locations.

According to a report by myjoyonline.com on July 9, 2026, the coordinated exercise led to the arrest of the suspects, comprising both males and females between the ages of 24 and 55, with officers also retrieving items suspected to be linked to illegal narcotics activities.

NACOC officials said the operation forms part of the Commission’s broader efforts to disrupt drug networks and reduce the circulation of illicit substances within communities.

“These intelligence-led operations are aimed at dismantling criminal networks involved in the illicit drug trade and ensuring the safety of our communities,” the report said.

The seized exhibits have been secured and are expected to undergo further examination as part of ongoing investigations.

The suspects are expected to assist investigators and will be processed in accordance with the law.

NACOC has urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to aid efforts to combat drug-related offences across the country.
