Two arrested over alleged plot to assassinate Susu collector

The Madina Divisional Police Command has arrested two men over an alleged plot to assassinate a Susu collector at the Botwe Taxi Rank.

The suspects, Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adejetey, were arrested on September 4, 2026, after police officers, acting on intelligence, laid an ambush at Botwe Old Town.

According to a report by adomonline.com, the suspects were apprehended while allegedly attempting to carry out the planned attack on the woman, identified as Esther Dankwa.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Altine allegedly owed Dankwa money and had come under repeated pressure to settle the debt.

“He subsequently allegedly conspired with Adejetey to arrange her assassination,” the report said.

The two suspects were arraigned before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026. Their pleas were not taken, and the court remanded them into police custody.

They are expected to reappear before the court on September 22, 2026.

Accra Regional Head of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Juliana Obeng, said investigations are ongoing and further developments will be communicated in due course.
