A 31-year-old man, identified as Kofi Amankwa, has been beaten to death at Assin Akrofuom in the Central Region after being accused of theft.

The prime suspect, popularly known as 'Yaw Forest', is in police custody and is expected to appear before the Assin Fosu District Court to face charges related to the incident.

According to a report by adomonline.com on November 2, 2026, the deceased's sister, Ama Bimpoma, said her brother was tied to a pole with a rope and severely beaten by the suspect until he collapsed and died.

She alleged that the attack followed accusations that Amankwa had stolen coconut seedlings belonging to the suspect.
