Issa Tuffie, a 27-year old driver, has been fined GH¢600.00 by the Nkawie Circuit Court for dangerous driving.

The convict, who pleaded guilty to the offence, would spend 12 months in prison if he fails to pay the money.

Police Detective Sergeant Jonas Adjei told the court presided over by Justice Frank Owusu Afriyie, that Tuffie drove his cargo truck into a 207 Mercedes Benz bus, killing two passengers and injuring many others on November 3, 2010.

The accident happened on the outskirts of Nkawie.

Tuffie was driving towards Kumasi from Bibiani and the bus coming from the opposite direction.

The prosecution said the cargo truck veered off its lane and crashed into the bus and because the impact was great, the bus tumbled on its side.

Akwasi Adu and Bright Narh could not survive and the others were rushed to the Nkawie Government Hospital for treatment.
