A judge was on Thursday compelled to defer judgment in a defilement case because the court’s ‘Records Book’ was not submitted on time.

The Ashaiman Circuit Court presided over by Judge Lydia Osei-Marfo had set June 25, 2015 to decide the fate of 48 -year -old taxi driver, Kofi Sekyi alias Samuel Inkoom who allegedly defiled his 8 -year- old niece and later offered her “Kalypo” fruit drink to appease her.

However, the late submission of the records book has delayed the case for another week.

According to the judge, she did not have ample time to prepare the judgment because of the delay.

According to Atinka News reporter, Regina Asomoah, the audience at the court, particularly the victim’s relatives were not happy with the development since many of them had travelled long distances while some say they have so many businesses to attend to.
