A 21-year-boy said to be the most wanted thief in Jukwa in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region has been arrested.
Bismark Agyei, popularly known as Akokodompe, was arrested in Tarkwa in the Western Region after stealing GH¢22,000 belonging to a relative of his.
The relative is said to be a worker at Twifo Oil Palm Plantation (TOPP) and the money was meant to pay other workers.
The suspect has been on the police wanted list for a while and, according to the police at Jukwa, he broke jail a few times.
“We sent his pictures to all the police stations and declared him as wanted,” said the UCC District Police Commander, DSP Mohammed Awal.
“Later a call from our neighbour region police command unit from Western [Region] said they have the suspect in their custody, and as we are speaking now the suspect has been transferred from Tarkwa police station to Jukwa police station for further investigation.”
Many residents in Jukwa besieged the police station to catch a glimpse of the suspect.
