CHRAJ records 84 cases in Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District

Ajumako (C/R), July 28, GNA - The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District branch of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), received 84 cases from January to June this year as against 148 cases within the same period the previous year.

Mr Alex Mensah, Assistant Principal Registrar of the branch, who disclosed this to the GNA on Tuesday, said 50 child maintenance cases topped the list of complaints received, while the rest involved child abuse, property inheritance and customary marriages. Mr Mensah said out of the number, 72 had been disposed off, while the rest were pending for redress.

He reiterated that services rendered by CHRAJ were free and appealed to the public to feel free to report human rights cases to the office for redress. 28 July 05
