The Upper West Regional Police SWAT team last Sunday arrested five teenagers who stole some household items in Wapaani, Dobile and several other suburbs of Wa, capital of the Upper West Region.
The teen suspects – Richard Ababa- 17, a mason, Amemunu Musazu, 16, aluminum glass fabricator, Fuseini Haruna, 17, a student and Sita Rahinatu, 16 a student and Ibrahim Karim, a student – stole expertly at night from their victims.
Items retrieved from them included six (6) used home theaters, one (1) Strong decoder, found in a room at Wapaani, whilst one (1) 26 inches brand new flat screen television set.
Preliminary investigations showed that the suspects began their illegal operation at about 11:50pm on May 10, 2020. They stole the items and succeeded in selling the television set to one Ibrahim Karim. But this was later retrieved when a tip off led to their arrest.
The Upper West Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Francis Aboagye Nyarko thanked the community for their cooperation leading to the arrest.
Meanwhile the suspects are set to be processed for court.
