Bomb at NPP UK Branch

Tue, 24 Dec 2013 Source: nppukbranchlondon@gmail.com

NPP Branch as it is referred to in the UK may cease to exist sooner that

later in its current form either for the good or worst.

An emergency meeting was called for this weekend 22nd December 2013 to

discuss corruption and financial issues leading to the internal elections.

The event almost turned into a fist fight between some of the current

executives and those fighting for executive positions.

The whole event warranted a video camera to capture the scene. The people

of UK NPP are nothing but power seeking and hungry bunch who seem to thing

that by virtue of the party coming into government they will earn the right

to be governmental positions. This is what you call democrats doing their

best.

The Adhoc Electoral Commission setup to look after the internal elections

in effect resigned as a result of trust, so as it stand there is a chance

that the elections will not be conducted in January as planned.

There are some that want to be in executive positions at all cost and other

who want to remain there for their selfish deeds.

None of these bunch really care about the country Ghana judging by what

transpired at the meeting.

One thing to note is most of the chapters under the UK Branch banner do not

report to London but rather directly to Ghana, this in effect means the

London chapter should now refer to itself as NPP London Branch or NPP North

London Branch.

This is a branch that no one trust the other, the infighting is worst than

the animal kingdom.

A chairman who is isolated by his executives, executives who are fighting

each other, a branch where members have no respect for the executives. The

branch need a complete overhaul of the personnel.

The NPPUK elections have hit a major snag as the Electoral Committee had to

resign en bloc as they refused to be cajoled and intimidated by the

Chairman Atta Kruffi and his band of merry men.The Chairman, who has been

in office for 8 years, is hell-bent to continue for another 4 years. It is

not rocket science to work out the motivation.Again, I will call on the

national party executives to empty the coffers of NPPUK bank account as a

matter of urgency.I will reckon that there should be a whopping £16k

minimum in the account. Though am a member of the Executive l can only

speculate as to how much there is in the account.NPPUK account is run like

a personal account of the Chairman and Treasurer. The way the NPP franchise

is used by individuals is frightening and appalling and the national

treasurer must do something about it as a matter of urgency. If the Gen Sec

Chairman and Treasurer do not empty the account of NPPUK I will accuse them

of being part of a racket. I remember Dan Botwe and if memory serves me

right that Sir John asked for intermittent transfer of branch funds to HQ.

In the past, under the chairmanship of JH Mensah SK Boafo Adjei-Bawuah and

Ampratwum-Sarpong NPPUK & Ireland barely had £500 in its account as monies

in were immediately transferred to Accra for political work.We cannot as a

party allow branches to be keeping large sums of money in their accounts

whiles the party cannot even pay light bill in Accra. This is a challenge to

the National Executive to demand that all monies held by the branch is

transferred to Accra by the close of day 27th Dec 2013. Else the money will

grow wings and fly away.Sometimes I wonder if NPP has the moral right to

accuse NDC government of corruption and highhandedness. The NPPUK is so torn

apart such that it could not meet twice when the so-called Chairman called

for Executive meeting for lack of quorum.Today NPPUK & Ireland has become

NPPUK has had enough of the London dictator. The chapters are poised to

follow suit. NppUK is going to become some insignificant North London

chapter without any relevance. The National Executive may intervene to save

the situation. But will they? I don't think so. Are they not busy fighting

to retain positions?Meanwhile, whether NPPUK branch will exist again in its

current state is highly improbable.More to come
