To Avoid Rawlings Words Of Attrition.

From: Stephen A. Quaye, Toronto-Canada.

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] chapter in Montréal, Mr.Hans Peter Duah, has advised good people of Ghana to start thinking of wearing ear plugs to avoid listening to unpalatable statements by the former president J.J.Rawlings as well as NDC vile propaganda.

According to him, the former president who is now being considered alongside former president J.A.Kufuor as statesmen, for far too long has been making statements which he can best describe as “words of attrition” disturbing the peaceful democratic atmosphere now being enjoyed in the country.

Mr.Hans Peter Duah, who was the former Asantifuohene of Montreal and known as Nana Duah, gave the advice when expressing his worry about the latest verbal attacks directed on former president J.A.Kufuor, by Mr.J.J.Rawlings, to this reporter during an exclusive telephone interview on September 21, 2010.

Former president Rawlings through various media networks via the internet was reported to have stated at International Catholic Union of the Press conference in Burkina Faso, that former president J.A.Kufuor, was paying 10,00o dollars to an unnamed journalist while the president himself was receiving a miserly 350 dollars a month as a salary.

Mr. Jerry John Rawlings was quoted as saying,” president Kufuor has no reputation to protect and should not attempt to create a non-existent reputation for himself. His government was so embarrassingly corrupt that its own party chairman lamented the greed of the president in seeking to directly receive kickbacks from some of his ministers”.

Commenting on this allegation, Mr.Hans Peter Duah, questioned whether former president Rawlings either has any reputation to protect at all as he challenged that during his 19 years rule the country recorded serious human rights violations, killings and missing of patriotic citizens, big time corrupt practices among his ministers and poor economy.

He explained that former president Rawlings behavior since he came out from government is like having a wife who snores so badly that you can not divorce her nor kill her but find an antidote to the problem by considering wearing ear plugs to avoid being disturbed by the noise from the snoring.

“Or his words of attrition can be compared to heavy noise produce by heavy equipment .You can not do away with it if the equipment should function therefore one has to wear ear plugs in order not to be bothered by the noise” he further explained.

The NPP stalwart observed that good people of Ghana are much disturbed by the unpalatable statements which have been coming out from the former president as they clearly attempts to raise the political tension between his founded party NDC and the NPP therefore the need to find an antidote to them.

Mr. Hans Peter Duah, did not minced words with the fact that no one can do away with the former president adding” even his founded party leaders can not avoid him therefore the need to find the best way to handle him not to cause explosion in the country by his words of attrition”.

The politician also blamed various media networks for not refining or polishing his statements to sound palatable before presenting them to the public to prevent any anger such statements might generate in whatever quarters which might go a long way to affect the country democratically.

“I think the general public should also start to demonstrate their lost interest in such statements by refusing to read them in the newspapers or listen to them on the radio which might inform the reporters, editors and the publishers as well as owners choice of what the community want” he suggested.

End.
