Ghanaians outside urged to invest in the country

Coaltar, May 3, GNA - Mrs. Agnes Obeng-Anyamah, a Ghanaian resident in France at the weekend appealed to Ghanaians resident outside the country to invest some of their earnings in meaningful projects in Ghana to enhance the growth of the economy.

She said Ghanaians outside could help by setting up projects in the communities that would absorb the unemployed youth who migrate to the urban centres in search of non-existing jobs.

Mrs. Anyamah, who is a native of Akotuakrom near Coaltar, noted that if there may be any meaningful business to flourish in the country it behoves on Ghanaians themselves to set the pace by bringing in their hard earned monies for expansions and development of the economy. Mrs. Anyamah owner of Abrempong Guest House, made the call, when she and her manager, Mr Kennedy Obeng conducted the Ghana News Agency (GNA) around to inspect the guest house which was built at the cost of 1.8 billion cedis between 1997 to 2006, at Marfukrom junction on Kraboa Coaltar road.

Mrs Anyamah said the building comprises nine well-furnished bedrooms, entertainment centre, toilet facilities, bar and restaurant. Meanwhile 10 youth have been employed, whiles 20 more would be employed for services.

Baffour Ahwireng, chief of Akotuakrom and Obaa Panyin Adwoa Gyamah Obeng, who officially commissioned the project commended Mrs Anyamah and called on others to emulate her.
