Update: Takoradi police mount search for boyfriend of beheaded woman

The police have mounted a search for a man believed to have beheaded his girlfriend at Apremdo, a suburb of Takoradi.

The lifeless body of 31-year old Beatrice Laweh Adjei was discovered Saturday by her child who screamed to attract the attention of neighbours.

The boyfriend of the deceased, Francis Agbem-nya reportedly committed the crime using a cutlass.

The Kwesimintim police commander, Superintendent Ayamga has told Joy News his men are following leads for Francis’ arrest.

“...No arrests made but efforts are underway to get the suspect apprehended,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the police commander added, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Afia-Nkwanta regional hospital pending autopsy.

He gave us the brain and conscience to know what is good and bad and that differentiates us from animals. Domestic violence can affect any one just like victim of crime can come from any background. It doesn't matter; it can be a man, woman, christian, hindu, muslim, rich, poor, educated or illiterate. Staying in violent relationship just because you read the bible or pray 24hours will only get worse. For instance, you don't stay where you are when you see a moving vehicle coming towards you or hear someone telling you to run because of danger. It is only animals that can't get this.

No matter what aggravation was caused by an individual, there is absolutely no need to kill, unless of course in self-defence.

We don't know the details yet no one has the right to think that another person who has wronged them is their personal possession so they must kill them. Ghanaians should please exercise self-control in their relationships.

What we should be talking about is how we stop this horrible evil that is now affecting our communities both overseas and in our home country Ghana. Men should learn to treatand respect the gift of their wives and women should learn to respect their husbands and boyfriends end of!!! we are thousands of miles away from our familes and loved ones back in Ghana and all you hear when you speak to fellow Ghanaians, men and women alike is how they hate each other. We need to educate ourselves in learning to treat each other with love and kindess and this horrible onslaught of hatred against different tribes that seems to go hand in hand with every story on this website is totally unnecessary. At the end of the day ayoung lady has lost her life, two children will now go through life without their loving mother and a family in Toronto and Ghana have lost a beloved daughter. On the other hand, if parents see any red flags in your teens with these outrageous aggressive behaviour don’t' be ashamed to seek help. These controlling drugs drives them to do bad things just like what happened to our dear daughter. I know most of Ghanaians cultures have a hard time accepting mental issues, specially, parents, don’t' feel like you're giving your child up, but rather think that you're helping him/her.
