There is a cluse, in the Ghanian constitution, that gives no room to the citizens of Ghana who had been away from the country for 5yrs. I am writing to tell Ghanaians, that untill that cluse is totally dropped, the country would never move forward. That cluse depicts that Ghana as it is, wants to live in its ignorant, no matter how it is. So if you want to live the way you are, as that cluse requires than why would we prefer to live a luxurious life like the out side world? How could we know what goes on in the outside world now in the world Global economy change. If now one goes to esperience life outside, how would we know the truth? Do we still believe seen is believing? If yes than that cluse must be dropped. For those lawyers, Doctors and so call businessmen and women who only goes out of the country for just 2 months has notthing to tell about those counties they visit. I tell you any time they go out, they are been lead by somebody they know there, ( a Ghanaian) who drives them put to do teir orders and purchases and when they return home they make it feel they know every thing.
Ghnana can not do without tapping knowledge from its people who have lived long, long time in foreign counties.
These are people who has been able to have the experience and knowlge of things example , the diffrecence between what a debit card is, and what the credit card is and how these two things works. Eventhough the regular business man in Ghana can tell you what they are, but the question is have they had the good use of it? This brings into memory " if some one tells you he or she has some thing to seal can you just pay for some thing you have not see? No , the sealer had to show you what it is" this brings about the show me star in united states.
Ghnana should creat about 8 seats in teir parliament, and invite good citizens from each of the g8 nations through official elections there to ocupy the seat so that if some one comes and is throwing dust into the eyes of parliament, they would act as police to those ideas. This special people's elections must be conducted every 5 years so that they could stay into the new elected govt. every 4yrs. And after their end of office returned back to where tey came in from if they wish.
I believe by doing these, this great nation of ours would move forward.
Reading about stuffs, and heading, listening to the news by unravelled Ghanians alone would not help. This would be like a blind person leading blind people.
We are in a Global village now in this centry, tere let us use , tap knowledge form our people outside our visinity, for we can't always win without them.
Let me take this opportunity to as Ghanians are there no alternative power source to care for Ghana at this time than the Hydroelectricty? Let's ask our selves some questions since when did the US stopped the massive us of the Hydro to generate power? What are their source of ek

Those living in Ghana for the past 56 yrs, have not been able tout Ghana on the world map. Therefore it's up to them to give you and I the chance to see if we can make that change happen. Yes I believe we can since we have tasted to living in the so call out side Ghana, and since 3rd world countries continues to imitate the advanced countries, than I believe we who are live in Europe , united states, Germany and other parts of the world (G8) nations could offer a lot.
The only problem is the cluse that we have in our constitution, that recents Ghanaians who have leave outside for more than 3yrs to play a roll in their crazy politics must be thrown out first.
If you dont live eg. In the Uk, how would you know how the Bus system works? Also if you don't live in the US, how would you know the use of taxes.
Ghana is still living on the state of colonial ideas and even their so call economic professors all have the backward ideas. The refuse to know we now live in a Global economy were by innovations, knowledge, basically ideas alone, could be purchased. They still relie on the bookish economic system of supply and demand.
This is why I say about 8 seats should be created in teir parliament, opened up to knowledge from people who would like to offer ideas from any of this G8 nations so that we cold move forward.
How would this work?
These intested people should apply through the Ghnanian Embassy in the respective countries that they leave and be elected for a period of 5yrs. Than go to Ghana and work first we can use this as a national service. Than later on when worked extend it to about 16 countries, and on and on.
When this system is applied, you would see the ideas that would be in play in our parliament. This would stop the Mormon yeah, yeah that these guy there are gearing every day.
See what happend with the xone mobile deal? Who among this guy that did the contract know even where the HQ of xone is. They just signed ha crazy pact any how.

Today there is constant power problem; water problem and corruption in Ghana. Everything is going up in price, except wages.
No my friends wait until after the Supreme Court rule who is the real President of Ghana.
The biggest problem with Ghana is leadership.
People do not trust Mahama and the NDC.
No one will trust the fox in a chicken coop, and that is the situation Ghana has unfortunately found herself.

simple, provide 24 hrs electricity and lower the tariffs and i guarantee you that Ghana will boom from the investments from those in the diaspora. Ghana is really not ripe for any good business and that is the reality.

With the advent of dumso-dumso, intermittent electricity supply, lack of fresh water, high cost of living, the filth and smell, expensive transportation, bad roads, armed robbers, lack of adequate health facilities and the sakawa going on, who told this Godfather, Frank Anderson that people are itching to go back. Some returnees are returning to Europe and tge diaspora. There is still a them and us attitude. Ghanaians love to pander to the white man and other nationalities, whilst giving their own a hard time. It is hypocritical. We want to know the number of graduates and post-graduates still doing cleaning dubbed as domestic engineers, security or night watchmen and women, healthcare, personal care, nannies and other odd jobs round the world. As the the number of Ghanaians in the illicit trade of prostitution, peeping hole duties in Holland and drug trade, we have no statistics. Then we get to the Ghanaians round the world languishing in foreign jails and the ones being deported regularly..... Let us get real. Few survive more than 4 weeks in Accra. All the relatives and friends act as leeches sucking the funds dry out of the Ghanaians living abroad. We still have to send vasts sums home just to subsidise our friends and relatives in Ghana... So what is new?

There are Lawyers among us.Doctors, Journalists, Financial experts etc.etc. I say let us form a Political Party, gain clout and go back to Ghana and contest in elections with the sole aim of transforming this noble land of ours awash with natural resources.

This is a very good idea.Some us lsft home to labor and go home to establish something like self employment for a standard of living,support the family, and also as contribution towads the development.We need genuine company partnership Because each an every ghanain in abroad, learnt and saw how that developed country works in many ways.Thefore, this must not be for some class of ghanains abroad.We are all feeling home sick.We should ask the government of mother ghana, to set a ministry on behalf of ghanains in diaspora coming home,to assist us in our genuine ambition of business plnned home coming but not financially,because the one had certain amount in possession to begin with. When you leave home for a while,you look like been a stranger in your own motherland and can be easily cheated.I guess the Ministry with honset administation won't cheat

It happens a lot in the Ministry of Health where Ghanaian Drs who want to return home are frustrated and even called names like Dr Kweku Afriyie did when he was Minister for Health.

JDM needs to look into this and act; he should create a functional desk in the Presidency to support Ghanaians in the diaspora to want to come and work to contribute to building a Better Ghana.

Recently in an address I believe the Minister of Finance mentioned Ghana's promotion into the ranks of Middle Income Countries- a group with a wide span consisting of those with a GNI of US$1026 to US$12475.Ghana's GNI is actually US$1401,putting it in the lower group of the MIC'S.However, progress is to be lauded,irrespective of size.Is it true that Ghana is receiving only 10% of the oil revenue? I am hoping that this is only rumour. The news that Ghana Airways is to be revamped and will be up and running by the end of the year was also encouraging.Surely if Ethiopia and Kenya could manage and own successful airlines the 'most progressive and best Africans on the continent' should be able to achieve similarly? My concern at the moment though is the contempt, scarcely veiled, with which Ghanaians,both government and people, are treated at the moment with not a whimper from those in authority who should at least speak out. The 'nicest Africans image' has a big price to pay. People take advantage and the nicest Africans cannot complain! For example,how do people in Ghana pay for the very many documents sent by DHL to the various countries abroad? Their charges are astronomical to begin with, but they are often seen as a necessary evil for the ordinary man. who needs to use them only occasionally.I made a startling discovery earlier today when I attempted to send an important document to Accra, a few pages in an A4 size envelope.The ordinary cost is $US130+, but if you paid on line with your credit card there is a 15% discount which brings the price down to US$107 if it is dropped off at their office. I proceeded to make the shipping application on line, when it came to payment a big error message came up. Scrolling down, the message reads 'your destination is one for which credit card payment is not acceptable'! I asked to speak with a supervisor who after the usual pleasantries about my health etc, informed me that Ghana was a country with high credit card fraud, and although domiciled in the USA and having an America issued American Express Platinum Card I would not be able to use it, I would have to pay in cash at their office and lose the 15% discount. I was livid. In the first ,I doubt whether credit card fraud is higher in Ghana than in the US, per capita.What prevents DHL from making a simple phone call to establish the validity of the AMEX card I was using? It made no sense at all, and with all the foreign oil and allied companies operating in Ghana at the moment DHL is doing big business in there. It is time that some government official asked to have a word with them about this totally unjustified and stupid practice. Unfortunately they are not the only company doing this, British Airways and VIRGIN ATLANTIC operate in the same way, no doubt there are others. Even though the government might only be reciving 10% of the oil revenue it does not have to behave like a floor mat and allow itself and its citizens to be walked on.Where is the famous pride about which Ghanaians were always boasting? How the country needs a Chavez, God rest his soul.

People seem to think they are going to go home and get a job just because they have lived outside. What people need to do is to be good at what they do abroad and save money. Once they have saved up some money, then they can start a business back home. The point is that one has to be willing to take some risk. It is not going to be easy.

It is not easy but I have a business in Ghana and it has its ups and downs but I will not sit back and let others come in and end up benefiting from the growth of the middle class in Ghana while I just sit and watch from afar.

A "beacon of hope to Africa", one has to be well prepared before one makes that move which Mr. Frank Anderson and his friends at NFDP are making us to believe. I have two beautiful houses,one in Accra and other at Koforidua but eve since I bought them there have never been any water running through their pipes for almost two and half years ago.Good luck and make your move to your socalled beacon of Africa,Frankie.
