  At least, he has appealed to fellow citizens to not to forget mother-land Ghana by utilizing their brains and other resources to help build and or revamp our economic system. And I bet you all that he did not suit up in gold ...

  At least, he has appealed to fellow citizens to not to forget mother-land Ghana by utilizing their brains and other resources to help build and or revamp our economic system. And I bet you all that he did not suit up in gold and diamonds when he was travelling abroad, and like-wise, he will return the way he did travelled outside. That diginity alone, a Zango Chief can bring to table.

  When a Nation exports what it needs AND produces and IMPORTS ALMOST EVERYTHING IT NEEDS,how do you want the Cedi to APPRECIATE ??? We have NOT MUCH manufacturing base and that IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM!!!

  Kwaku Anane-Gyinde, thanks for your very informative and truthful article. Ghanaians in Diaspora are treated as second class citizens: when i applied for a visa to enter the country i was born, the Ghana Embassy treated me badly, my USA passport was nowhere to be found it took over a month to find it after numerous calls to the embassy only to speak to an answering machine: please leave your name and phone number and we will get back with you: which they never do. I eventually had to cancel my flight.
  I finally, arrived into the country, sold some property and decided to go to a commercial bank to open an account.. i was directed to the bank manager who will not accepted my money to open a bank account ... his questions were: where did you get the money...i told him i sold a property i owned and wanted to save the money in an account to start a business..he frustrated me so much with go and come that i finally cancelled the idea..indirectly, he wanted me to bribe him to open an account.
  There is a long list of Ghanaian talent in diaspora that can use what they know to better Ghana but with such treatment is hard.We need to treat Ghanaians in diaspora as a resource - the fact that they contribute to GDP more than cocoa by remittance yearly to our families to supplement their income.
  Ways Ghanaian Diaspora can be helped:
  Stop harassing us when we want to come home to visit our families by treating us as second class citizens - my parents don't treat me as a second class son.

  Let the Zongo chief realize that if national development is the responsibilities of all Ghanaians iresponsive of where that Ghanaians resides then he should advise his NDC colleagues that every Ghanaian has the Constitutional right to hold any office and the right to cast votes in the country.

So, call on the on the government directly to consider your call for holding office and voting in the country. By the way, who is stopping you from holding office or voting in Ghana? When it comes to voting, don't allow anybody to intimidate you to the extent of not casting your precious vote.

  This man sounds like a very thoughtful and well mannered chief, but let's dissect and put the actions of Ghanaian leaders under microscope to see what we might find. First, we have a king that's buying a million dollar homes in England and south africa, and thus paying millions of dollars into these country's coffers, in the form of taxes..hmm.. how ironic is that. These taxes that he's paying on the million dollar vacation homes can help buy diagnostic machines which can raise the level of our healthcare delivery system. Now let's ask our leaders,where their priority lies ???Is it to enrich thses already riched nations, or to show off their wealth to people that leaves on a dollar a day.

Because, I personally know the Zango Chief of Kumasi Alhaji Umar, and I have never known him or any other Zango Chief who suit up in gold and diamonds. It is not our culture or religion. Any chief that calls himself a Zango Chief and suit up in gold and diamond is something else, not a Zango Chief or faithful muslim.
