Why a four year term of office for Chapter Executives?

NDC Constitution Art.16, Sections 1 and 5(a) states that "constituency conference shall be held once every two years to elect members of the Constituency Executive Committee."

Your own By-laws Chapter 5, Section 2 states that "the officers of the corporation (Chapter) shall be elected biennially by a majority vote of members present to vote in the biennial election."

It is only in rare cases, under circumstances beyond your control, Chapters are allowed a few months extension of the two-year mandate for officers.

It will, therefore, be unconstitutional for your officers to remain in office past their two-year mandate except such a request, based on tangible reasons, has been approved by NEC.

Please, be careful not to contravene the constitution in order to create any confusion in your chapter.

The laws of the state work very well unlike Ghana where the President violates the laws of the country and nobody cares. Rather those who need to be educated about peace and civility is the organizers and members of the political organization.
