I remember those days when the late Sam Quaicoe and others were out there (in London, New yORK, lAGOS, ETC.) for the GNA to raise the image of journalism in the global sphere. It's a laudable effort to sustain.

Hi Bernard, I always remember the days when you lot made Africa proud with your high level of professional journalism. Those were the days some of us were always eager to read every word in the West Africa Magazine. Anytime I drive by the building at Coldharbour Lane, Camberwell Green I always remember 'West Africa Magazine' I am glad those who wanted to re-write the history of Ghana can hear it that GNA was established by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. Now they can understand the meaning of 'Nkrumah Never Dies'. The man Nkrumah is dead but his dreams and legacies go matching on. Unfortunately journalism has lost it's professionalism especially, in Ghana. The likes of Kweku Baako, Kurantchie, Gina Blay, Pratt and co and the media houses have turned the profession into telling 'ananse' stories. The sector is now literary full of illiterates and untrained persons. The only qualification required is access to and the ability the microphone. There is no credibility- the content of the news has no reliability or validity. It is what we call in Ghana, noko fio'(just something little for the stomach and every news item, discussions or analysis are not only political but partisan. I hope your training i.e lectures and workshops will raise the standard of proficiency of our journalists and media houses who self-impose themselves as the all and all. The only group of people in Ghana who should comment on social, economic, religious, environmental and political issues in Ghana. I trust you will maintain the good works of our Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

what kind of country is this? everyone can just wake up on they and start offering honorary PhDs to people. what is is Global Center for Transformational Leadership based in kumasi? what kind of charter do they have in the ghanaian academia to offer honorary doctorate and bernard otabil also has the audacity to call himself a doctorate. tweeeeeea! why are we degrading in Ghana. the entire academia must rise up to this. all so-called evangelist or pastors are holding doctorates. it looks as if no one will attend their churches if they do not have one. this country is in a serious mess. nothing is been controlled. Aba!

I am very disgusted by your comments which is fashioned in the typical African pull him down syndrome. Celebrate the achievements of others so that one day you get honoured too. Honorary Doctorate is higher than a PhD so try and get your facts right. You should investigate personalities and stop bashing them. Honorary Doctorate holders don’t need to call themselves PhD holders because they don’t need it. Are you just envious and jealous of it? In the Bible envy made people kill and your wading into those of us who preach the Word of God shows the heart you are made of. Just read this to be abreast with the times. May the good Lord forgive you.
