I will still preach most of our Embassies are useless and a big drain on Ghana's finances and hope an Intelligent leader will understand and combine some of the embassies. Germany, Holland and Belgium, for example can have one main consulate.
Uk, and Ireland can also have one instead of 'three'(with the two in UK)

Let's try and be efficient and effective.

The official language in Russia is Russian and not English. Europeans are not like Ghanaians, they speak their own mother tongue. In Europe no one is considered to be highly educated for the mere fact, that the person is fluent in English or any other language for that matter. They understand that language is not tantamount to a good education.

They hate their fellow country men, those whom they are pair to work for, being residents of the countries they serve. Some of them treat you as criminals merely because you have been a resident/citizens of those countries they are serving in. The government need to educate these so-called consular officer of the need to assist people of Ghanaian breed and not to treat them as criminals. One needs to visit the Ghanaian embassies/missions abroad to see how hateful these officers treat their fellow country people.

This story has too many details to be a hoax. In other words, it sounds very believable and our Government, in fact, the President ought to intervene to direct a full-scale investigation into it. Meanwhile, Inusah must be recalled and suspended from working, and banned from contacting Officials conducting the Investigation, unless the Officials initiate any contact relevant to their fact finding.

And when the case gets proven as reported, Inusah should lose his Diplomatic status and sent to Jail for a much longer term than the main victims.

This story sums up how most of our Foreign Missions treat us abroad, given numerous accounts on their insensitivity and total refusal to help facilitate our stay overseas.

I was personally sexually harassed by a short, fat ass/belly officer in July, a married man who claimed to be next in command to the High Commissioner here. When I said NO to his sexual advances, he refused to assist me to obtain a new Ghana passport after cancelling the one I just obtained from Ghana when I was there in March. This bloody so called disgraced diplomats need to be taught a lesson they will never forget. Keep records of everything they do to you as a woman/man and use it as an evidence. Also tell a friend, or a relative.

This report contains so much all-around foolishness that I'm disinclined to believe it. But two points stand out:

I question the motivations behind any African to work or study in Russia at all -- not that the victims described in this article either worked or studied there. What does that nation offer that can't be obtained much more safely somewhere else?

The lack of professionalism in the embassy is the other striking matter. Having the nation's foreign interests represented by incompetents is a national security risk. On that account, I wish this "report" were just a fabrication.

Several years ago, I recall reading a similar story involving a Legon-bound female student who was tricked into abandoning her university studies and in pursuit of riches in Russia of all places! It was only when she landed at her destination that she realized she had been trafficked to sell her body As it is part of the usual 'protocol', her passport had been confisticated by her Madame, making any movements impossible. She was able to regain her freedom through the assistance of a good samaritan who brought her case to the attention of our diplomatic mission over there. I have also watched horror documentaries on Aljezerra involving our women/young girls in places like Italy where they line up on busy freeways in search of customers. Usually the backseat of a customers car or a shck made up of plastic sheets suffices as a 'hotel room'!
This couple is simple lying throught their teeth and 'dumping' on this Consular Officer,who it seems was not enthused by this sort of national disgrace, and thus was not prepared to cover it up. Some of the characters who describe themselves as husband and wife are nothing more than business partners who employ juju and physical harm to intimidate and keep their 'human-cargo' in check! It is about time African govts took a common stand to end this form of exploitation. What we are witnessing in Europe, including Russia, and lately places in the Middle East is re-enactment of Abidjan 101 of the sixties through to the eighties and even part of the early nineties!
