I actually fear that behind the scenes, our govt may have agreed not to restrict homosexual activity in Ghana anymore. This was the main reason why Ghana was included in this restriction in the first place.

I never said at one point that it was not Mahama who secured the deal in the sense that it was not my opinion. I was only quoting and referring to an earlier contributor, the gist of what was said in the article.

For the avoidance of further doubt, the article said that "A Home Office spokesman confirmed to the Sunday Times that the policy would be scrapped."

This was followed by,"The decision is thought to have been taken after Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg threatened to block it."

What I did however say and which was just simply an expression of personal concern and not a statement of fact is that, it could also have been that Mahama may have compromised on the homosexual matter for the British to waive that visa fee for Ghana.

Thirdly, your apparent guilt in associating and sympathizing with the failures of Mahama and the present govt may have reduced your state of mind to a condition of paranoia. Why would you think I hate Mahama? I dont hate him. I sympathize with his obvious inability to do what he has been voted by the people of this country to do for this country. Thats all!

The British Govt is perhaps finally waking up to the NEW WORLD REALITY and that is developing countries like Ghana can not easily be isolated and bullied any longer.We have other options in trading and developing partners such as Brazil,China,Denmark and Russia who are willing to treat us with respect and fair consideration.We must devorce ourselves from Britain as the Indians and other former British colonial states have done and focus squarely on utilizing all other avenues available out there.We do not need to turn our Country into a homosexual tourist haven to finally get the British to be an honest developing partner.IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT WE DO THEY WILL ALWAYS MOVE THE GOAL POST THE MOMENT WE GET CLOSE TO SCORING.The British have over the past half a century come up with one ridiculous excuse and condition after another as to why they can not deal with us fairly.And every time we satisfy whatever condition they put out they come up with newer ones more ridiculous than the former.ENOUGH ALREADY GHANA.We can seriously work with CHINA,BRAZIL and RUSSIA to move ourselves forward rather staying in this Mary-Go-Round policies the British has us on.Thanks.

What is this that Ghana always want to portray that they are a different from others whereas everyone else knows Ghanaians are pretenders and liers. The £3000 UK visa policy identified and indicted five countries including Ghana found to be fraudulent and serial breakers of the UK Visa laws, so the decision to scrap the policy did not single out Ghana as a special case but rather for all countries involved, Infact Ghana benefited from the threat issued by Nigeria and India to the effect that they will retaliate if Britain went ahead with the policy. Infact Nigeria summoned the British High Commission in Nigeria for clarifications consequently issued a threat of £20,000 bond for any British intending to visit Nigeria. It is also afact that India has issued a directive to the effect that thousands of Indians that seek to travel to Britain for higher education should redirect their applications to Australia instead, these are the two threats that have sparked the debate in the British parliament that sort to make the policy unpopular and in effect couter productive and may at the end create hatred and losses to the economy of Britain.
I have not heared Ghana made any comment since that policy was proposed or issue a statement at Governmental level such that can contribute to the reversal of this policy, why would such a decietful headline be posted outhere to seem Ghana was singled out of the rest and given a special dispensation as though Ghana is sooo special to the British poeple. This type of self acclaimed importance should sieze forthwith, Other countries see Ghanaians different from the way they choose to see themselves, so stop the self deciet.
