  The practical demonstration of Fiber Optics in Sullivan Park Research center in Corning Glass Works NY was in 1972. It took 15 years to achieve large scale manufacturing after the laboratory demonstration. The Internet as we know it today took off after the large scale manufacturing technology was in place by 1985. Almost 30 years later the Internet is a global indispensable too used by all of us.

The great pioneers at Corning Glass Works had the vision to transform our world as we enjoy it today.

His work in fiber optics led to the much needed bandwidth which transformed the telecommunication and computer / internet platform that gave the US global leadership in this field.

  The same foundation that recognized famous achievers like Bishop Tutu, Denzel Washington, Ted Turner etc, has recognized achievers from Ghana including the Chief Justice of Ghana.
