That deal was the worst deal in modern times. Look at how Botswana divided the diamond money? Look at the UAE and other places. Even look at Alaska.

It's a shame such a deal was struck to the detriment of the nation because of someone's 3%.

Get the facts. EO Group's 3.5% came from the KOSMOS end - not from the Ghana end. In other words, Ghana would still have 10% INITIAL stake regardless, which is the inviting deal that made us an oil producing country.

If you were not filled with jealousy, you would appreciate the fact that fellow Ghanaians were able to secure an additional 3.5% from the white man back into Ghana.

Today the same arrangement you call bad is still being used by the current government even though Ghana is now an oil destination. When you reduce the price of your products to call in customers, you slowly have to increase the price after customers have come to appreciate the value of your products.

Stop hating and move on with your own life.

Listen to Sarpong(aka Mahama, Houdini,Cardinal,Catalyst and Sam),as he mouths his usual class one economics for his semi-illiterate audience.Fact of the matter is Edusei and Owusu were a front for Kufuor, Mpiani and other honchos of the NPP who masterminded the deal with Kosmos.They hid their shares in the company's total shares negotiated by the Kufuor government - at the expense of Mother Ghana.

If what they did was legal,then why did the EO Group flee the country and set up its headquarters in the Cayman Islands on December 31,2008 - just before the NDC defeated NPP in the run-off? What were they afraid of ?After all,they installed their NPP judges in the courts who would throw out cases on "technicality".

Some of us are not fools to be easily hoodwinked by subterfuges, tribal kin ship as Sarpong(Mahama) and others display. The EO Group - with the NPP honchos working behind the scene, defrauded Ghana of about $1 billion and all participants ought to be prosecuted. No amount of peanuts thrown to Nana Nketsia and other chiefs in the Western Region or the show in Washington D.C. will erase the crime committed in Ghana. After all, presidents and prime ministers have served or are serving time for crimes committed while in office in Israel,Chile,Egypt,Argentina,Peru, South Korea and Pakistan. Why not in Ghana/Africa?

You are lying. The EO-Group was a partner to Kosmos and claimed its shares per the initial agreement for that Partnership.

So, do not try to fool anyone that EO did not get anything from Ghana but from Kosmos. The other, and even most controversial aspect of the deal between Kosmos and EO, is how EO got Kosmos to pay for its expenses, like fees, etc. as a Partner, and not a subsidiary of Kosmos.

You will be doing the EO-Group much favor if you do not provoke the silent discerning Ghanaians who simply may have just let things be with the EO-Group's case.

Kosmos did not have any Oil Deposits in Ghana to begin with. It was the EO-Group that introduced Kosmos to Ghana and liaised between it and the Ghana Government under Kufuor's Presidency to offer Kosmos the 86.5% of the Jubilee Oil Fields. The EO-Group negotiated and got the 3.5% as its share of the deal. Period!

Don't try to tell us that Kosmos was initially offered 90% of the Jubilee shares and it donated 3.5% of that to the EO-Group. Any transfer of shares is supposed to be done in a certain legal manner, in contravention of which calls for criminal investigations, and possibly, prosecutions.

The Edusei Foundation involvement with philanthropy is so it could amass enough goodwill to persuade all concerned Citizens that it is a most beneficial National entity. We understand that. But if you asked me, I would say philanthropy alone does not help Ghana much. Ghana needs re-investment of profits into our Economy by those who have been fortunate to own part of our national assets, in one way or another.

I would rather wish to see more vibrant entrepreneurial involvement by all the beneficiaries of the EO-Group and others directly benefitting from our Oil. Our Youths need jobs. They do not need temporary hand-outs that cannot help them build any established foundation.

One good thing about the Edusei Foundation is that it seems to be focusing on Education. But it could still do much more to make its impact on Education more meaningful. We hope to see George Owusu, Edusei's known and formal Partner in the EO-Group, and the others who were more remotely behind the Oil deal and possibly, also, benefitted from it, to come forward to do their part to expand our Economy.

However, the greed is still outweighing any sensibilities, patriotism and compassion.

As for Kosmos paying for EO Groups expenses, it is called "carrying" in the industry. EO Group had to pay Kosmos $75 million in liabilities after it sold its shares.

There are a lot of untruths about what you posted but I can't discern if you did so out of ignorance or of malice.

The fact remains that these two invested their 401K and other human resources to manifest into the oil find. And it is very disingenious when folks like you use apparent industry terminology to suggest that you know what happened when in fact you don't.
