The Ambassador has taken a courageous step to invite Ghanaians abroad to consider investing their monies in the country. It would be a positive step except that the climate in Ghana is not conducive to business. Actually, if you analyze the how the regulations stack up, their combined impact is to discourage business and foment corruption. The Ambassador needs to go back and do his homework. You still think when they announce that Ghana's economy is booming reflects the reality? The average Ghanaian reads about this and wonders why they cannot feel the effect in their own wallets. Why is Government the largest employer? How does that affect the economy? Why does the government have to import foodstuff when there are vast agricultural lands. Why is it that the ambassador is not asking for talent from the diaspora but is only asking for their money? Ghanaians who lived abroad understand how an economy has to be managed. These bureaucrats in Accra don't. It doesn't take an Einstein to figure out that the secrecy, the lack of transparency in Government is to conceal ineptitude. Ghanaians have to start holding their officials accountable for their promises and their actions. Ghana officials are not dishonest by default. It is the attitude of Ghanaians that makes them dishonest. If you hold them to a higher standard, they will quickly adjust to the new realities.

Ghana is currently one of the most dangerous place to invest, especially if you are a Ghanaian living overseas. There is no protection for businesses. Government doesn't know what they are doing, and God help you if you ever encounter any problem. You can make some headway if you can identify yourself as an NDC sympathiser. Worst of all is if you want to acquire a land to build, chiefs are selling land to multiple buyers, and people are losing their lives because of that. Currently the last place one should consider investing, is Ghana. The investment climate is not good!!!.

You've disenfranchised us but now want us to invest in Ghana so you can steal our hard earned money without recourse? Why not invest some of the money looted in Ghana?
