Third, why don't you start your own Reverse Slavery Program to give visas to Americans (or Ghanaians in America) to come and work in Ghana. Wouldn't that balance the equation. Failed, corrupt country. That is the reason even your young, pregnant ministers take US visas and go to the US to deliver their babies. I live in the State, courtesy almighty green card, and I'm mire free than my entire 36 years life lived in Ghana. I came out of school and never had any job for 6 solid years, not even walatu, walasa. I came to United State and within a month I was working, even if it was cleaning, I was still making more money than an acoountant in Ghana. Our pride will continue to kill us.

Within only 4 years being in the States, I'm doing very well than them fucking politicians who can only steal to do same. The States sent me to school for free to at least learn a trade which landed me a job in the Gas and Oilfield now, making good money now which them fucking politicians cannot make, except they steal. Yes, America has her negatives as any other country on earth, but as long as she is given hope to otherwise hopeless people like some of us, God will continue to bless her.

I think some actually met the requirement, but due to some minor erros, they were denied visa, I know of a friend who was denied because his birthplace on his passport was Accra but during the initial entries, he made it Kumasi, which to me was unfair because someone made the entries for him while he was still at school, A lady was denied visa because she omitted {H} from on of her names, another friend was denied visa because of an error he made about his birthdate during the initial registration, even after providing all legal documents that shows his real age, they need to do something about that

Do not listen to those who are not qualified and trying therefore to dissuade you going. Please go and you will never regret it or look back. How can you spend all those years studying and spending your parents' meagre income and be unemployed for more than 2 years? It is disappointing and frustrating to stay at home doing nothing all day 24/7 with no light at the end of the tunnel.
I am not a slave. I am free at last from dictators and corrupted leaders. Suffice to say that I have lots of investments in Ghana and employing Ghanaians.

My advice is, acquire more skills through training to be more employable when you get there. Not many Ghanaians can get that opportunity, so grab it with both hands. You are lucky, you already have resident documents. Dr Kwame Nkrumah was a stowaway but managed to continue his education in America. Be focused and determined, surely you will succeed! America is a land of great opportunities.

It is completely not a bad idea for the US government to offer opportunities for people from all countries to win the US Visa Lottery. We must admit that those who get the opportunity will certainly support some family members back in Ghana and that is contribution towards national development. If the opportunities that exist in the US were to be in Ghana, many Ghanaians would probably not have qualified to apply let alone winning. We must commend the US government for these programmes that gives opportunities to some of our country citizens to live the life they deserve. Though it may be a brain drain, we as a country must begin to pay professionals top notch salaries so citizens would be willing to stay and contribute to national development. If we can seal massive leakages at the ports of entry and be fair and honest towards each other in Ghana, patriotism would be felt at all levels. For now, whilst some of us are so patriotic and going through the pain, others just stand on one platform and hey, there is a Toyota Land-cruiser waiting for them in a matter of few days. So the system is a bit each for himself, God for us all. Let us pray the US government would be willing to take as many as 20000 Ghanaians a year. Unemployment will be so minimized and the people in position who do not want to offer us jobs will work till they get tired and no one to carry-on from where they left. Then they will learn to know no man is an island. God bless the US

No one is enslaving anybody. We work hard to provide for ourselves and some of our families back home in Ghana whom sometimes are difficult to control how they manage things.

There are a lot of Ghanaians like myself who wish to do more for Ghana but our leaders are so corrupt beyond imagination. There are so many examples that I will lose counting if I were to count. For example, why should someone pay over $6000.00 import fee for just one vehicle? If the port receives 100 or 200 vehicles a day, that amounts to about six hundred thousand dollars or one million two hundred thousand dollars a day. If with all these, our leaders still go out and beg for money, then what kind of people are we. It is very sad, and I am glad that through United States, many families across Ghana and the rest of the world are being uplifted from extreme poverty. God bless the United States of America and God bless us all.
