Now, am older and I remember it was shot in the head with a football that started giving me seizures.

If she was my Mum, as God lives, and I am 26, my other siblings are 22 and 24, we will move heaven and earth to raise enough money to pay these medical bill and secure an air ticket to get her out of this hell called Ghana.
In as much we expect help in such circumstances, when it does not come we must help ourselves.

Trust me it is probably by God's grace that these kids has been able to pass through their situation to this day. You don't know the emotional struggles these kids are going through. Yes they are of age, do you know how much student debts these kids have?, and some of them can hardly find jobs even during summer break to support themselves let alone to help their mother. It is not easy as some of you folks home thinks it is in abroad. When it comes to jobs, our kids are in a disadvantage ends, they are not lazy, they want to work, but unfortunately we live in a world where people are judge by their colour. Some of our kids will even travel to other places where they think jobs are available but they are sometime met with disappointment. Let me tell you, i feel for these kids. I believe they love their mother just like you love your mother, it is not laziness.

I know some kids who even traveled as far as Alberta to look for job, but sadly to say some of them were not able to find job which they thought was out there, and those who were able to find also got laid off in a short period. The kids may have lived in an affordable housing but it wasn't their fault and it wasn't their preference. For me the fact that they have able to go through the pain of not having mum around, mommy is sick, loneliness, depressing and only God know what, but went to school without hitting the street makes me love this kids the more. Some of you guys have never experience hard live so you talk as if the world belongs to you, i know how it feels as a kid, so i really do get angry about fools like you and your stupid and insensitive comments. Pray to God that you don't ever face any hard situation in your life, because if that ever happens to you, it wont be anything like what this kids has been through, because he knows the heart of every man/woman and he does pay accordingly. Canada provides free healthcare for both her citizens and permanent residents living in Canada, unlike the USA where you have to pay or secure some insurance for your healthcare needs. Obamacare is something recent and beset with a lot of problems. This is the reason many Americans over the years cross the border up north to fraudulently avail themselves of this free Canadian healthcare facility. Truth be told, Canada has a free healthcare facility for all her citizens which is the envy of Americans.

In this woman's case, I believe the whole truth has not been told. If she is truly a Canadian citizen, the Canadian High Commission would have engaged her already. If not, then the case has not been brought to the notice of the Canadian High Commission. The problem of this woman seems like someone who is a "Permanent Resident", what Canadians call "Landed Immigrant". If indeed, she is a landed immigrant, then the Canadian government will not come to her aid. Again, from what her kids are saying, it seems she has been out of Canada for a very long time. If this is the case, again it would be very difficult even for the kids to get her back to Canada since she might have overstayed the legal 6 months allowed for permanent residents to stay outside of Canada. A permanent resident loses his/her right to stay in Canada status the moment the mandatory maximum 6 months allowed expires.

Canadians are very particular about their citizens as well, and I believe the High Commission would have rushed to her need if she was really one. For now, I believe she might be a permanet resident, in which case they would not go to her aid. A very sad case!

The woman in question is a Canadian as it is boldly written and the Canadian officials have been contacted and made aware of the situation. They have refused to help her, why do you want the government of Ghana to intervene and who says the mental facility is a charitable organisation. Individuals can come in to help as I want to but if you have anyone to blame, send it to the Canadians since she knew Ghana has nothing for her and she switched to be a Canadian. Why are you now attacking Ghana when her home country is in the notice.
