It is just unfortunate that as a people, we just can't be happy and celebrate the successes of our own people but take delight in belittling or degrading their successes...this is rather sad to say the least!

Well in usa, knowing english is basic requirement for job search. What keeps gets you a job, is your ability to do it. You can speak all the english in the world, but if you are incompetent, you will be fired.

More people speak English in China and India than there are who speak English in the United States and England combined. English is the international language of commerce trade and diplomacy. It's not the learning of the English that is holding us back as a nation, it is the corruption, and the relying on handouts instead of innovating as a nation that is holding us back. With that being said that doesn't mean we should throw away our languages and our culture away either. We should celebrate all the Languages in our country and hold them up to high esteem.

English has not put food and houses to fantes or say ewes or even the northerners since they are the most educated tribes in Ghana. Its good to learn an international language but its not what will make u great.
