  Where is Twi ,Ewe Ga taking us in the World economy? Tanzania tried that bullshit with Swahili in the 70s and 80s. They have learned the hard way. It only placed them at a disadvantage.

  Are there Physics,Chemistry Biology, Maths books in Akan,Ewe Ga? How are the kids supposed to learn these subjects?

  Stop that thing. We all have respect for our native language but the truth is there is no an Ewe man would allow Ga to become a national dialect. More science books are written in english and the person who is pushing for this would never employ a ghanaian who cannot speak english in his company or fm station. the truth hurts we are too late for that. i encourage my kids to speak english because that is the only way they can master it a little better verbally and as for the local language they will naturally pick it from the neighborhood and also during conversation between family members. The rich can afford to hire a fante or twi teacher for his kids....but i bet you it will be very difficult for the middle class to hire a teacher to teach his kids how to speak the english language.

  It is STUPIDITY to even take any local language as official. How to to you teach Computer Technology and all the algorithms in Twi?Ewe? Ga? Are there even books?

  My problem is with the acceptance of one another's languages. The Akans especially feel that everybody from Ghana MUST be able to speak Twi. A lot of them tend to look down on others who are not able to speak the Twi language ...

  My problem is with the acceptance of one another's languages. The Akans especially feel that everybody from Ghana MUST be able to speak Twi. A lot of them tend to look down on others who are not able to speak the Twi language- both home and abroad. Communication is better in countries like Liberia and Nigeria where they all accept a common form of creole English that can be understood or quickly learnt by foreigners also. You walk to a bank and even there, the teller may speak Twi to you first before you could struggle to do your transaction etc. Some tribes in Ghana even feel shy to speak their languages in public because of the way some Akans behave towards other tribes.

Ewes and Northerners are over- represented. Asantes / Akans are just creating their own handicaps by insisting on speaking Twi.
  You cannot learn any subject if you cannot read and comprehend English. Even Kuffour and Nana Addo: Can they compete with JJ- a secondary school leaver?

Ewes are NOT necessarily gifted with a higher IQ. Simple put,Ewes learn and use English more!!! Text Books are written in English, not Twi or Ewe or Ga. Where can a Twi speaker get a complex computer algorithm book in Twi? This is just one example of where the Twi speaker RELEGATES himself in the Knowledge-based economy.
