Accra, Aug. 15, GNA - The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, fell 4.24 points to close at 1,176.10 points from 1,180.34 points. The bourse has thus returned a year-to-date gain of 17.61 per cent. The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also dipped 5.47 points to 1,120.88 points from 1,126.35 points with corresponding year-to-date change of 12.09 per cent.
There were eight price changes=96 three up and five down. Standard Chartered Bank shed GH¢0.99 to GH¢6.01, CAL Bank down GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.26, and SG-SSB Bank fell GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.48. Other losers were Ghana Oil Company which lost GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.30 and Mechanical Lloyd down GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.10.
The gainers were; Total Petroleum Ghana up GH¢0.05 to GH¢22.09, State Insurance Company added GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.54 and HFC Bank advanced GH¢0.02 to GH¢0.36.
Market Capitalisation closes the session at GH¢48,393.16 million ced= is. Total volumes traded were 193,249 shares, valued at GH¢205,247.62.
