One of the lustful lecturers captured in the latest exposé conducted by the BBC Africa Eye has been disowned by the authorities of the University to dance to the tune of his flirtatious tendencies.

Authorities of the University of Lagos(UNILAG) have strenuously dissociated themselves from the actions of their “sex for grades” senior lecturer, Dr Boniface Igbeneghu.

Dr Igbeneghu has been caught in a video documentary by BBC’s Africa Eye on “sex for grades” in some prestigious West African universities.

Reacting to requests by the BBC on the documentary, the UNILAG insisted that it had a zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment and by no stretch of the imagination shields or endorses any act of sexual misconduct.

Dr Igbeneghu who lectures at the Faculty of Arts has been recorded in the exposé sexually harassing a seventeen-year-old ‘student’ so as to enable her to gain admission into the university.

The undercover journalist posing as a 17-year-old student got invited to the senior lecturer’s office and was forced into flirtatious conversations and later touched in inappropriate ways.

“Do you know that you are a very beautiful girl,” he asked her “Do you know that I am a pastor and I’m in my fifties. What will shock you is that even at my age now, if I want a girl of your age – a 17-year-old, all I need is to sweet tongue her and put some money in her hand and I’ll get her,” Igbeneghu flirted shamelessly.

The BBC said that lecturers captured in the documentary are persons many students have accused of being constantly involved in the act of soliciting sex in order to help students academically.
