As much as you GES dont respect teachers, should not affect thier salaries. I have taught for 36 months before I was paid due to so called Embargo on Salaries by this government and the money was used to enrich individual pockets. Only 3 months salary was paid and you are here talking about absenteeism. I am not psychologically fit to be in the classroom whiles thousands of GHc belonging to me is being created, looted and shared. To hell with your absenteeism. Give us our monies.
You have also succeeded in buying our leaders and their mouth is stinking because they also dont talk on our behalf.
Do you expect me to always be in the classroom when I have a huge debt to settle because of your misappropriation? Rethink and hold the bull by the horn and stop beating about the bush.
Ghana is the only nation with leaders without head.

This is typically one of the lazy diagnosis of the problems of the Ghana education service and quality education for that matter.
The most serious hindrances to quality education in Ghana is the lack of Teaching and Learning infrastructure. Public schools need modern science laboratories, computer laboratories, creative art laboratories, technology driven TLMs. These are necessary to teach 21st century skills to children. The teacher can stand in the class till death but if these things are not provided, no useful learning is going to take place. If NIB wants quality than they must first creat quality learning organization. Let's not worry the teachers and blame them over nothing. Every man being in this country absent him/her self from work to seek one service or the other. Some even goto UK for health check ups. Are the teachers chairs?

Why do teachers absent themselves from school? The answer is simple. The problem is caused by the District, Municipal, and Metro directorates of education. Their officers don't go to work regularly. Monies meant for supervision are diverted into the pockets of District Directors, budget officers and accountants. Workshops which are to run for eg four days, only run for 2 days, and reports are written for 4 days. Thee balance goes into the pockets of the 3. officers mentioned above.

stupid report. after having treated teachers badly, getting rid of teaching assistants, not paying teachers salaries and all sorts, you still want them to be in 2 places at the same time.
