Ibn Chambas was not even a nominee or even in contention for the position, as Ghana in the person of Kofi Annan was already SG of the UN. Fast forward, when Ibn Chambas was exiting Ecowas as president of the commission with a year to go to complete his term, the NDC drafted Gbevo and NDC to complete his tenure. When Ibn Chambas was exiting the Africa-Pacific commission with a year left to end his tenure, the NDC drafted another NDC member.The NDC has never promoted the cause of any NPP member. We need to applaud Nana for following the tradition of the NPP of putting Ghana first before party.
