Anybody knows you hear the name Mahama and you know some sophisticated fishy business or crime is being committed using various institutions as their camouflage cover . You listen to the various videos and you may even hear the gunshots of the captain shooting at the people but no where was he shouting as required to identify himself. Because the people are Fantis or Akans its easier to blame them instead of finding out the truth. The story doesnt add up , anyone who has taken the time to travel around most pats of the Central region will observe even in the middle of the night even white girls , tourists Europeans and other foreigners walking alone or roaming around unaccompanied and nothing ever happens to them . But then again every once in a while we hear of some white-man being killed because of some gold deal. Lynching is wrong but this has elements of self defense and over reactions to it, remember he fired his gun at the people before with courage they disarmed him . It would have been better if they had handed him over to the police but we all know he would have paid a bribe and those who had apprehended him would have been languishing in jail . There can be no peace without the assurance of justice. On this forum we notice all the lying hypocrites who have come out to condemn the town but fail to notice the crimes committed like corruption , nepotism , incompetence etc. A sin is a sin and a crime a crime , why turn a blind eye to corruption and yet talk shit about one lynch. Police stations are being burned to the ground and now most security agency personnel are scared and shitting in their pants because soon the people will arise. Npp , Ndc and most of the media are in a hype propaganda mode to blame the innocent people of the town rather than properly look at the suspicious activities of the captain . First he was jogging alone with a gun in plain sight . Rather than identify himself chose to engage in shooting at the residents , a sign of substandard training or criminal intent . He was on duty and an officer but had no other lower ranking soldiers accompanying him , was he deployed there to be on holiday so could go jogging around ? Never trust these security forces especially the army as they are involved in all kinds of criminal activity and always have sophisticated propaganda lies to make it appear they did nothing wrong. A wise man once said its stupidity to know the truth but chose to believe the lie.

The DCE is being used as a scapegoat. This is not rule of law but pretense with haste backed by armed-chaired journalists and commentators who don't seek the truth and justice they profess. I'm disappointed in my President for been forced to cover up the truth. Who is housing them and how come they are not known even by the chiefs and opinion leaders, even the head of security within the area. He must be reinstated for better and proper investigation to be conducted. The media is shallow and the President acted hastily without due process.

Former RSM, Jack Bebley was part of the escort of the gold haul during their nocturnal activities. He got disappointed after seeing no rewards in those dubious operations. He and his men revolted and ambushed the convoy that carried the good booty, on it's way to the castle in the middle of the night. The case took a "hush-hush" handling and Jack and his men disbanded from the operation team. That's the real beginning of gold rush in Ghana. Because everyone was now free to indulge in what later turned to be "galamsey!"
It's free for all; NDC, NPP, CPP---it didn't matter who you are---everyone got involved, esp. during NDC's regime. Things got intense during John Mahama's rule, when his brothers, appointees, ministers of state were all involved, using foreigners esp. Chinese, Russians etc. to indulge in illegal mining.
It takes one to tune in to radio programs to know who're defending the galamsey thing, esp. Baba Jamal, Kwabena Akandoh, Kwaku Boahen and those who pretent to be fighting the menace on TV, yet hide behind the veil carrying out their dubious deals in gold. To them, it's no crime so long as you don't get directly involved in the business. Such is the character of the NDC.
I heard someone say on Radio that: "it will be impossible to stop galamsey" because it's come to stay! I just can't imagine that a public official could make such public statement---that's NDC for you!

Chairman Wontumi in the Ashanti region is a known galamsayer. The deputy minister of defence quickly jumped to the defence of the military by indicating that there were no military personnel at any illegal mining sites. So far that issue has been quickly swept under the carpet. A small fry like the DCE makes the same observation and he is quickly dismissed. THERE IS SERIOUS CORRUPTION IN HIGH PLACES GOING ON IN GHANA. The same thing happened with the FULANI HERDSMEN ISSUE - a lot of the cattle is owned by powerful interests in Ghana.

But then, I think the DCE is being used here as a scape goat. He said nothing else but the truth about the military guarding and protecting these foreign gold minors. The truth is that the top hierarchy of the military which sent the soldiers to the place must be investigated and severely punished by the president and not the DCE. It looks like everybody is trying not be objective and face reality.
