We are all saddened with the way the late Captain died, but, his death begs for some questions raised by some townsfolk and some leaders of that community pertaining to that forest reserve. After parents have struggled and their children reach SHS it should then be made free for all. Most average can't make ends meet at alone pay for the education of three children, before paying their rent etc etc. Ghanaians children do not benefit from child benefit like children do in the U.K. Children get child benefits, if their parents are unemployed they get unemployment benefits plus rent free, free school meals, food bank pick up etc. Those who have should be giving to those who do not have through a food bank deposited at churches and Mosques etc etc. No one should be ashamed of not having food to feed their children.

My community shares a district border with another two miles away. On Monday 8th May, the pupils of my local Methodist JHS3 took their final Super Mock Social Examination paper prepared by the Regional Methodist Education Unit which was supposedly to be taken by all Methodist schools in the region. One would have expected that to be very effective, arrangements should have been made for this mock to have been taken by all Methodist schools in the region on the same day!
At about six oclock that Monday evening, as the clouds were gathering strongly for a potential heavy downpour, five boys stood outside my house looking for my nephew who starts his BECE on Monday 5th June. As has been my practice whenever any stranger comes into the house I called these five young men and started my interviews: "Where do you come from? How old are you? Which schools do you attend? Do you enjoy being at school? What is your worst subject? What do you hope to be in future? What is your present mission to my house?" These guys told me they were all JHS3 pupils who had come from the next town to see my nephew. They had finished all their mock exams, but had heard that pupils in my town had started their final super mocks so they wanted to collect the papers they had done to use for their own final revision exercises. When I asked them whether they were not taking the same mocks, they replied that they had finished all their mocks two weeks previously and would not be taking any more such mocks! They claimed their school had taken that particular super mock series three weeks previously. I commended them for the effort they had made collectively to avail themselves of what other schools were using for revision. Before I allowed my nephew to fetch them the papers, I warned them that I would visit their school to ascertain the facts of al that they had told me.
The two mile journey took me just 20 minutes from my house the following day. I met the three or four JHS3 teachers at the headteachers' office, and when I asked them when they completed their mocks, they confessed they had two more to do, including the regional one prepared by the Methodist Education service. They could not explain why the papers were not taken simulataneously throughout the region. Without telling them where specifically I had come from, I narrated what had transpirred in my house the previous day. The four teachers all concluded they knew where I had come from because they had heard that the pupils in the Methodist school in that town had started the Methodist regional mocks which they themselves were scheduled to take the following week! The teachers corraborated my story by saying that in fact they had caught a couple of boys who had entered that morning's mock with prepared answers for a particular question.
I asked the permission of the teachers and went for a stroll among the class without pointing out the five boys who had come to my house - having promised the teachers I had no such intention.
The question is this: Why would the regional Methodist education unit decide to prepare a paper to help pupils in all Methodist schools in the region but fail to arrange that all the schools take the papers simultaneously? Was that not a clear cut recipe for leakages? Our authorities should take all the blame for the sins and ills of our society!
