For those like Ablakwah and many more who are even too young to know anything about the NDC, it metamorphosed from a murderous PNDC, led by murderers like Kojo Tsikata, thieves like Obed Asamoah and PV Obeng, traitors like Kofi Totobi and opportunists like Mr. Garbrah, who urged Jerry rawlings to transform his murderous PNDC to NDC. They then wrote a phony butchers' constitution and secretly inserted and Indemnity clause in the middle of the night. The rest is what you see today. Heaven knows which version of the NDC is even doing the celebration.

The NPP is often accused of being an Akan party. From the list of speakers at NDC's coming functions, would it be fair to observe that the NDC is led predominantly by Ewes and Northerners? The danger for the NDC is that as the voting paterns in the last elections demonstrated, it is clearly a party of the minority, and therefore it may be difficult for the party to return to power. Any objective observer would have noticed, that in the last elections, the NDC won only in the Ewe dominated Volta Region, and the three Northern Regions. It seems that the tribal lines are drawn. If that is the case, and the majority remain united, as was the case in 2016, it's difficult to imagine how the NDC, apart from the poor record of the Mahama administration, can return to power. The party won power on the back of a united minority against a divided majority.
