What I understand about the subject is that the people must be punished for this heinous crime that brought disgrace to we Ghanaians to serve as deterrent to others and the law must be applied. Is your comments suggesting that because other people are also being killed the killings of the innocent must continue? Should there not be a time when Ghanaians should stand up and enough is enough of these atrocities. Ghana is a country that lacks thinkers. We don't have great intellectuals to move the country forward. A soldier was killed by a mob, and everybody has become emotional. If anybody has a modicum of intelligence, then that person should ask himself a simple question. If the attackers knew that their victim was a soldier why did they record the attack?
There are so many unanswered questions about the soldiers death? What was he doing in that community at that particular time? Who was his superior officer that gave him the instructions to be in that community? Why was he not wearing his uniform? Why was he not accompanied by other soldiers?
We live in a country where people can't think. Why is it that people are so hysterical about this soldier's death? Could it be true that he was mistaken for an armed robber? Do we have a practice of lynching people who are not soldiers? Where was the priest when other people who are not soldiers are lynched.
The Ghana military itself is the most nefarious organization in the country. Once, Ghanaian soldiers abducted three high court judges in the middle of the night. The soldiers summarily executed them. One of the judges was breast feeding her baby. Their charred remains were found the next day because it rained heavily the night of June 30, 1982. There was no hysteria then.
The Ghana army has been brutalizing innocent civilians for a long time. In Ghana it is not uncommon to hear people threatening the neighbors that they will call soldiers to beat the neighbor.
When this tragic incident happened soldiers ransacked the town, kidnapped some people and beat them severely. We have been told that soldiers have already beaten some people to death.
If this priest has any sense, he will implore the soldiers to refrain from violence. After all Ghanaians want to tell the world that they are civilized. In a civilized country, when a crime is committed, the the suspects are arrested, charged and prosecuted in an impartial court. Ghana is a piece of shit.

I hope the armed policeman seen in the video is also disciplined for serious deriliction of duty for not even trying to prevent the burning of the body and encouraging others to tamper with evidence in what was clearly a very serious crime scene. When you talk of " elsewhere", what do you mean? Is it the moon? Which soldier wears his uniform 24/7? Which soldier has an escort when he is leading his private life? . What happened was bad, and there should be a cut-off point for Ghanaians to put a stop to this crime, and that is exactly what we are doing. This is a wake up call for all of us. The mere fact that there have been series of these event before this doesn't mean we should accept mob action as being part of us. If you have a problem of we using this soldier' s death as a wake up call, you can also die through the same means, and we would use yours as a starting point to curtail instance justice.
