A similar thing happened at the YEA when criminal elements quickly moved in to steal money and place ghost names on file before the new CEO took over making it look like the outgoing CEO committed those offences. We need a proper handover so that DR Akanbong can account for his stewardship properly. It will prevent unscrupulous employees taking advantage of the disorganised transition to steal in the name of Dr Akanbong. A proper handover must hand over must be done. Why can't the government come up with a framework to prevent future occurrences of this kind of forced resignations? We did that with the presidential transition to a very laudable success. why can't we do that with other problematics areas? we know that CEO will be appointed come new governments. why can we need to produce framework agreements for those transitions too? we can't leave these things to chance because they risk destabilising our institutions and thereby making them weaker. We need stronger institutions not weaker ones.
