Green track students under the Free Senior High School programme are expected to resume their second semester on Saturday, January 5.
They will be joined by final year students, who are the last batch of non-Free SHS students.
Students on the Gold track are also expected to return to school on Saturday to complete their first semester after proceeding on Christmas break.
A statement issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Friday, January 4 indicated that the final year students are resuming early “to give them ample time to prepare towards the West African Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE)”.
“We wish to encourage all teachers and parents to give the students the necessary support as they go back to school,” the statement signed by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, said.
Meanwhile, all second-year and single-track students are scheduled to resume for the 2nd semester on March 1, 2019.
Second semester for the Gold track, however, begins on May 11, 2019.
