A self-proclaimed illegal miner, popularly known as a galamseyer, has threatened to become an armed robber should the government collapse the illegal mining industry.
According to him, the few proceeds he has acquired will be used to purchase guns for robbery operations should the government ban galamsey.
Speaking in a self-made viral video, he threatened that he would be moving from house to house to carry out the operation and that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is no exception, as he would rob him if he got the opportunity.
“The money gained from galamsey will be used to buy guns to come and rob. If you collapse galamsey, then why wouldn’t I rob? You will be sleeping and I will come to knock; when you come out, I will shoot you.
“He should collapse the galamsey and let’s see if we won’t become armed robbers. Akufo-Addo will be robbed if we get the chance, so he should stop that,” he said.
Meanwhile, the president has intensified the fight against galamsey by deploying the military to safeguard the river bodies in the country being destroyed by the activities of illegal mining.
Another Ghanaian man has threatened to use his proceeds from galamsey to purchase a gùn and storm homes to k!ll and r0b Ghanaians, including the President, following the government's recent decision to tackle illegal mining activities in the country.#StopGalamseyNow pic.twitter.com/QCS0q8kBUA
