The former Ghana's High Commissioner to India, Lawyer Sam Pee Yalley has called on all members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be united and recapture political power in 2020 general elections.
The NDC party suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2016 general elections as a ruling party in the hands of the NPP.
The party in 2017 appointed a committee to embark on a nationwide search for the reasons why the party lost and make attempts at healing the emotional pain and agony of their rank and file of the party.
In a statement issued by NDC Professional Forum (NPF) and signed by its National President, Lawyer Sam Pee Yalley commended the organisers of the party's Unity Walk that to them has so far united the party members.
The statement emphasized that, "the Unity Walk has been one unique phenomenon in the contemporary history of Ghana and NDC politics".
The former NDC Ahanta West Parliamentary hopeful, Lawyer Sam Pee Yalley hinted that the Forum is planning to organise a National Unity Rally to finalize the party's Unity Walk and it is expected to be held in Accra immediately after the party's Regional elections.
He revealed that the much anticipated National Unity Rally would be given the equal platform to all National Executive hopefuls and Presidential hopefuls to address the members of the party.
"On behalf of the entire NDC PROFESSIONALS FORUM, let me congratulate the former President H. E. John Manama, the organisers and all members of the NDC who in diverse ways contributed to the success of the UNITY WALKS", he stated
The NDC Professional Forum was launched in March 2018 to mobilise members for the party and energise the members of the party.
The Professionals Forum is an association of doctors, nurses, lawyers, lecturers, engineers and communicators among others within the NDC whose experiences the party can tap in cases that deserve professional advice.

STATEMENT BY NDC PROFESSIONALS FORUM
WALKED, HEALED AND UNITED FOR VICTORY
After the electoral defeat in 2016, members of
the National Democratic Congress suffered humiliation, taunting and abuse.
We became hopeless as our leaders at all levels began blaming each other for our electoral defeat.
The Party appointed a Committee to embark on a nationwide search for the reasons why we lost and make attempts at healing the emotional pain and agony of our rank and file.
We spoke but we were not healed.
Then came the magic of Unity Walk
In our view, in the 26 years of NDC politics, three distinct events have occurred that achieved the most in terms of membership mobilisation and loyalty.
One was the event leading to the 1992 Cape Coast National Congress
The second was the grief that united us following the death of our Beloved President PROF JOHN EVANS ATTA MILLS
The third of course is the NDC Unity Walk
The Unity Walk has been one unique phenomenon in the contemporary history of Ghana and NDC politics.
It has become unparalleled, in healing the pains and agony of members, galvanising their energies and rebuilding a true sense of membership and ownership of the NDC.
From the great minds that conceived the idea of Unity Walk, the first Walk in Tamale. It grew from strength to strength against both internal and external oppression and suppression.
We need to congratulate the gallant organisers on their fortitude, forbearance and resilience.
For it is in crisis that natural leaders emerge, and they indeed have exhibited and demonstrated their true leadership and mass organisational skills.
To them and all those who in diverse ways made the Regional Walks such a success, we say Ayeekoooo.
How proud are we that, former President Manama did not allow opposing voices to stop him but stayed loyal to the Unity Walk.
Some young Ladies who participated in the Tarkwa Walk were heard saying...Hei this Gonja Man is strong oooo. See how many miles he has walked and he is still not tired....
We in the NDC Professionals Forum are of high expectation that the the upcoming Unity Walk slated for Volta Region, a region commonly referred to as the World Bank of the Party will receive massive attendance. This walk is seen by many to climax all the Regional Walks
We are dreaming of the idea of a last UNITY WALK in Accra, soon after the Regional Congresses of the Party. For this rally, we expect all former National Council of Elders, the Former Presidents and wives as well as the wife of Late Prof Atta Mills including all Flagbearer Aspirants, to be invited.
Those Aspirants who will attend should be allowed to address our members.
The National Unity Rally should be climaxed with the much awaited declaration.
TO CONTEST OR NOT TO CONTEST
In this case Former President John Manama, will hand over a HEALED Party, If he is not contesting and or a UNITED Party if he is going to contest.
On behalf of the entire NDC PROFESSIONALS FORUM, let me congratulate the former President H. E. John Manama, the organisers and all members of the NDC who in diverse ways contributed to the success of the UNITY WALKS.
Signed!
Amb. Sam Pee Yalley
President for NDC PROFESSIONAL FORUM
