The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is out with the official time table for internal elections.
The party is urging all and sundry, especially presidential aspirants, to conduct themselves in a manner that will enhance the fortunes of the party into winning the 2020 elections.
Addressing a press conference in Accra, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, called on party supporters to recommit themselves to abide by the party’s constitution, especially the provisions relating to conduct of party members and discipline.
“We wish to remind the party that as an indiscipline army cannot win any war, so it is that a political party aiming to recapture power must demonstrate this way in order to position itself as a credible alternative government in waiting. Let us all, beginning from the new year, recommit ourselves to abide by the party’s constitution,” he said.
Asiedu Nketiah further disclosed that the election of branch and constituency executives is slated for September 21 and 22, 2018, noting that of Youth and Women Organizers would be held separately.
He also revealed that the 36th commemoration of the 31st December Movement will be held in Ho in the Volta Region urging all constituencies to celebrate the day at the local level.
