The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Augustus Andrews popularly known as Nana Akwasi has disclosed that the party has met with its lawyers to meet the BNI over the arrest of NDC member, Alhaji Alhassan Tapsoba.
The former Deputy Coordinator of the defunct Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Agency(GYEEDA) was picked up and detained by the Bureau of National Investigations(BNI).
It is not clear what triggered the invitation but XYZ News‘ Ashanti Regional correspondent gathers that NDC member has spent three days at the security post.
Speaking to Mugabe Maase on Radio XYZ, Mr Augustus Andrews told Mugaabe Maase, host of Inside Politics that he did not know the reason behind the arrest, but hastened that “we are speaking to our lawyers to assist us handle the matter,”
“The three people came to him and introduced themselves as operatives and picked him up,” he added.
XYZ News has learnt executives members of the National Democratic Congress have been frequenting the BNI headquarters over the development.
Mr Tapsoba was last seen in public during the inauguration of committees ahead of the 2020 election in Kumasi.
