Nigeria destroyed their economy by moving their capital to Abjua. Ivory Coast did the wise thing by not moving the capital but the seat of government to Yamousokro. Abidjan is still held as capital.

Ghana is not ready to take up that giant stride of moving the capital from Accra, though some people have suggested Kintampo, as the middle of Ghana. However, the economic condition of the country wouldn't permit us to make this move.

It is sad that the leaders of Western Region hate Western Region. One example is the Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi who is the President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs. He is the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghana Forestry Commission. But he looks on as Akonta Mining Company destroys the timber trees in the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve in Wassa Amenfi West. That forest reserve is the source of timber logs for Samatex Timber Company at Samreboi in Wassa Amenfi. The age-old chieftaincy dispute at Asankrangwa still lingers on while the Caretaker that the Wassa Amenfi Omanhene appointed has turned into the permanent traditional chief of Asankrangwa. The Caretaker reports to the Omanhene; so the Omanhene is an indirect chief of Asankrangwa. How can the Western Region progress with leaders like Omanhene Tetrete Okuamoa Sekyim? Western Region hates Western Region. Don't blame any President of Ghana.
